World trade summit comes to Monroe High School

After hours of trade negotiations and alliances made and lost, the Monroe High School marketing students representing Sierra Leone took home the prize in a recent day-long interactive economic summit  providing real-world experiences.

“We’re really trying to reach out beyond our school walls to understand about the world. Washington has such a number of ties with foreign trade in general. It’s important to make our students aware of that,” marketing teacher Darby Vigus explained.
