Over the course of six days, encompassing a Girls’ Summit and Youth Pre-Conference, the 10th Africa Conference on Sexual Health and Rights curated by Purposeful united participants worldwide in a powerful demonstration of feminist solidarity. This landmark event aimed to catalyze historic moments through essential dialogues, collaborative action, and a collective force for positive change.
VSL TRAVEL was the travel partner responsible for airport transfers and vehicle logistics for the conference. This conference catered for 950 participants from 41 countries.
TechWomen empowers, connects and supports the next generation of women leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) from Africa, Central and South Asia, and the Middle East by providing them the access and opportunity needed to advance their careers, pursue their dreams, and inspire women and girls in their communities.
They bring emerging women leaders in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) from Africa, Central and South Asia, and the Middle East together with their professional counterparts in the United States for a mentorship and exchange program.
In 2019, Sierra Leone hosted TechWomen’s international conference, and VSL took charge of all arrangements, seamlessly facilitating the event. From organizing conferences to booking venues and handling travel logistics, VSL ensured a smooth and successful execution of this significant gathering.
We organized a day excursion and team-building activity for SOS Sierra Leone, embarking on a journey to Bunce Island with a delightful lunch at Tasso Island. Engaging in various team-building games fostered camaraderie and participation. As the day concluded, we returned to Freetown, tired yet fulfilled from a day of meaningful activities.
The Budapest-Bamako or Great African Run is a charity car race in Africa, and the largest amateur rally in the world. Due to the deteriorating security situation in Mali, the organizers decided to bring the rally’s finish line to Freetown, Sierra Leone. VSL TRAVEL has been an instrumental partner in executing this Rally in Freetown in 2020, 2022 and will again be involved in facilitating arrangements in 2024. This is the largest tourism event in Sierra Leone with over 600 participants arriving in Sierra Leone in February 2024.
As seasoned ground handlers, we’ve successfully managed numerous cruise ship arrivals, and we’re gearing up for two more scheduled arrivals in 2024. Our comprehensive services cover all aspects, from coordinating with Immigration, Sierra Leone Police, Maritime Authority, to handling arrangements with the Road Transport Authority. We take care of providing vehicles, skilled drivers, knowledgeable tour guides, and dedicated staff for a captivating tour of the City, Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary, and Health Clinic.
In addition to the logistical details, we specialize in coordinating cultural performances and ensuring refreshing experiences for all participants.
