The Sierra Leone Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) last Friday signed an agreement with the Star Times to change from broadcasting with an analog system to digital technology. The ceremony took place at the studio of the broadcasting house, which attracted Board members of the Corporation and staff members.
Star Communication Network Technology (star times) and the SLBC signed the agreement that is expected to pave the way for the two organizations to form a joint partnership venture.

The authorized business scope of the company shall include the establishment of a digital TV signal distribution network, exercise digital TV based multimedia service and value added services based on the above mentioned network.
In his short statement the acting Chairman of the Board Festus Minah said that Star Times is a dynamic company in China, which has a long standing relationship with SLBC. He promised that in 2015 the SLBC would not be who they are today and the process that they are about to experience is one that will change the image of SLBC entirely.

The Ag. SLBC Chairman disclosed that the African Union of Broadcasters (AUB) has set a standard for all broadcasters that by 2015 all should go digital and Sierra Leone is a member of the AUB. He finally assured the guests that the signing of the document with SLBC will be in the best interest of the people of this country as great difference will be realized by all.
