Simple but classily designed lodges at the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Really nice and quiet break. Only a 40 minute drive from Freetown and set in spectacular rainforest habitat. Bed and breakfast. Lunch and dinner can be prepared if reserved in advance. Cooking facilities
available for self-catering if desired. A tour of the sanctuary is included in the room rate. All of the lodge income goes towards chimpanzee rehabilitation.
The Sanctuary currently has four lodges.
- Bruno – traditional roundhouse – 1 double bed;
- Julie – traditional roundhouse – 2 single beds (twin);
- Augusta – tree canopy lodge – 1 double bed;
- Christo – tree canopy lodge – 2 single beds in the first bedroom and 1 double bed in the second bedroom.
