Wife of the Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Mao Xuehong, last Thursday hosted Sierra Leone’s First Lady, Sia Nyama Koroma at the Chinese Embassy to celebrate International Women’s Day.
Madam Mao expressed delight for hosting the First Lady of their host country in oberving an international event such as the International Women’s Day. She paid tribute to the participation of other women stakeholders which she noted added warmth and pomp to the occasion.
She said women play significant roles in the promotion of their societies, enhancing economic development and advancing human civilization. “It is fair to say that women’s emancipation has driven the liberation of human beings and progressed our societies,” Madam Mao stated.
