His Excellency Dr Ernest Bai Koroma has paid glowing tribute to the outstanding role played by the Peace Corps in not just his academic life, but the life of most Sierra Leoneans in the country.

He noted that the volunteers were coming into the country at a time when the expectations of the people are very high and also at a time when good stories were being told about the great influence of the Peace Corps in Sierra Leone.

President Koroma revealed that his former teacher during primary school Sharon was the first Peace Corps volunteer he came into contact with and she had a great influence on his life, adding that he was very much happy to reunite with her during his last official visit to the US.
