Former British High Commissioner to Sierra Leone Peter Penfold yesterday received a Sierra Leonean passport, making him a true citizen of the country.
Presenting the passport on behalf of the Government of Sierra Leone, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Sheka Tarawallie, explained that Sierra Leone is not only for Sierra Leoneans born in the country but also those who have the country at heart.
He said that there have been reports of people using the country’s passport illegally but Peter Penfold has been a friend during trying times and even at the risk of his job, he helped Sierra Leone.

The Minister also said that even after serving as High Commissioner, he had a renewed feeling for Sierra Leone.
