President Ernest Koroma has said that all district and chiefdom headquarters in Sierra Leone will soon enjoy constant electricity. The President made the statement on his return from a very successful trip to Japan.

Already, district headquarters like Magburaka, Portloko and Kailahun have street lights powered by solar energy. Hydro and solar energy supply are now the norm in Sierra Leone.

Energy Minister Oluniyi Robbin-Coker re-echoed the President’s statement when he said recently that the Bumbuna dam will soon be ready to supply abundant electricity around the country. The dam has been having structural and technical problems that have now been resolved, according to the minister.
