As the annual national mental health care operational manual for 2014 has been launched by the ministry of health and sanitation, the National Mental Health Programme Director, Dr. Andrew Muana has called for increased capacity and collaboration which will further improve mental health care delivery in the country.

He made this call in an interview with Awoko noting that mental health in black sub-Sahara Africa started in Sierra Leone, for almost 200 years now. Since that time to now, Dr. Muana said mental health care in the country has gone through various stages of development.
