President Ernest Bai Koroma will appear on the 2013 edition of the TIME MAGAZINE as one of its 100 most influential persons in the world.
The April 2013 edition of the TIME will mark the publication’s 10th anniversary, and President Koroma becomes the first Sierra Leonean President to attain such an international recognition as TIME’s 100 most influential persons on earth.
According to commentators, this feat by the President is sure to brighten the dark perceptions of many people around the world about the state of being of Sierra Leone as a country in war and of blood diamonds.

“This will be a clear indication that the country is moving forward away from its past and that it is ready to do business with the peoples of the world. The acceptance of the country’s President among the world’s 100 most influential persons is a quantum leap from what was seen as a failed state to one that is transforming immensely for the benefit of her people,” one political commentator alluded in confidence.
The TIME Magazine had asked four of its 100 alums to each nominate their top choices for 2013.
