[b]POSITION: Assistant Finance Manager
[b]REPORTS TO: Finance Manager
[b]OFFICE LOCATION: Freetown
The Assistant Finance Manager will be responsible for management of the accounting functions of the country program, ensuring compliance with ARC Procedures, and reporting requirements as well as donor rules and regulations.
*Supervise finance staff in preparing vouchers with appropriate accounting codes and donor codes. *Ensure expenditures are made in compliance with the budget. *Monitor and analyze B/S and expense accounts against the budget. *Prepare cash & bank reconciliation reports on a monthly basis. *Consolidate and prepare the monthly cash projection from the field for submission to ARC Head Office in Minnesota. *Review coding of vouchers to ensure that expenditures are in line with the budget. *Key User and Encoder on ACCPAC accounting system. *Review the monthly expenditure reports and cash register from the field. *Review the accounts receivables and payables regularly to ensure timely settlement of accounts. *Prepare the PAYE and NASSIT schedule for monthly remittance to the Government of Sierra Leone (GoSL). *Undertake other duties as needed and requested by Finance Manager.
*Excellent organizational skills and an eye for detail. *Computer literate strongly desired. *Ability to work under pressure, prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. *Ability to work with teams under your jurisdiction and communicate information requests. *Willingness to travel frequently to ARC offices in the provinces. *Have Strong analytical mind. *Knowledgeable in the Sierra Leone Tax Laws, NGO policy and accounting standards. *Excellent interpersonal skills and good sense of humour. *Excellent oral and written communication skills.
*Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or ACA) or MBA preferred. *A minimum of 5 years post qualification experience in a financial and/or accounting capacity. *Knowledge of ACCPAC is required
