Ow di bodi?
In response to feedback from a few folks saying they did not get the last month's newsletter I have put some information online on how you can ensure you do not miss another edition. I think the problem is most likely to do with the fact that so many email providers are clamping down on emails which have been sent to a user without their permission (VSL never does this). In some cases they will only let emails through where the recipient has added the senders email to their safe list or address book. To ensure you do not miss another edition please include our address to your address book: More information on how to do this. If you do not wish to be on the list then please hit the link at the top of this newsletter.
I have also put all past editions of the newsletter online (yes from July 2004)

Now the juice...
Holiday season is just around the corner and news that British Airways Franchise- BMED will start flying to Sierra Leone can only mean more joy for customers. The British Airways franchise carrier is to begin three-times weekly
flights that will stop in Senegal and Sierra Leone from the end of October.
So, what what are some of the options for getting to Sierra Leone?
From the UK: Astraeus Airlines (Gatwick) and Bellview Airlines (Heathrow)
From Brussels:
SN Brussels (direct on Mondays)
From Nairobi/Lagos:
Kenya Airways
From Lagos/Accra/Dakar: Bellview Airlines
From Accra/Monrovia - Slok Airlines
Conakry - Guinea flight (don't quite know the name of this airline)
What of the US? I hear you ask...
Well for as far back as I can remember there has not been direct flights from the US to Sierra Leone but there are various options including flying to London with your preferred airline and heading off from there. However, for your own convenience it is probably best to fly into the same airport you will be getting your connecting flight. You can also fly direct to Brussels from the US.
Other options include flying to Ghana or Banjul (Delta Airlines/North American Air) and a range of other African Cities with South African Airways.
Top Tip
If you plan to travel to Sierra Leone quite frequently... say 2 or 3 times in the year then enquire about a business visa as it may work out cheaper for you.

Calling Sierra Leone?
On the forum a few weeks ago we were interested in finding ways to make cost-effective calls to Sierra Leone. One of the main contenders that emerged was www.call-sierraleone.com offering 9p to Datatel and 11p to all other networks in SL from UK. For US their charges are 15 cents to Datatel and 18 cents to all other networks in SL from US. I think what really impressed a few of our members who had tried it, was their per second billing and lack of connection charges. If you try out their service please provide us with feedback.
