Hi, My parents are planning on moving back to Sierra Leone at the start of 2013 and are currently looking at car(s) to ship to Salone from the UK.
i just wanted to see what other people would recommend? should we go Europe (Belgium etc) to buy it or buy a left hand drive from the UK and ship it directly to Salone.
Also, are there places with a good track record that anyone would recommend?
thanks

Shipping Cars to Salone

There are very few left hand drive cars in the UK. It is not the side of the road you drive on that determines the hand but what side the steering wheel is on. That said, they'd be better off going to Belgium as that has a larger market for Africa. They'd also be better off sticking to vehicles that are easy to repair. 4WD vehicles are preferable since they can go nearly everywhere. Of course the olde MB190 RWD will match
most of them. Unfortunately I don't know of any places to recommend since I haven't done this yet.

Thank you for your suggestions, much appreciated. they are probably going to go to Belgium. they should just get the 'old fathful' MB190, those things do not break.
and here is an other question: how much do you (averaging) need to pay for an insurance for a car (normal car or SUV) and are there any other additional costs next to insurance and diesel / patrol such as taxes and if yes, how much?
