Night Clubs and Bars

Sierra Leoneans definitely know how to have a good time. The local music scene is currently booming and new artists are surfacing all the time. There are a few places to hang out depending on what you're looking for. Most social establishments have bars but there are also, wine bars and night clubs. Favourite spots include Paddys, Lagoonda - both popular with locals and expatriates. There are various beach bars along the popular Lumley Beach.

Old School Night Club / The Lounge

Situated at Hill Station in Freetown, Hill Station and was formerly known as Barcadis and Rumours night club. It gets particularly busy on Wednesdays, ladies night – free for ladies.

The Lounge is a wine-bar at the back of the club, right next to the complex pool. It's a good place to have a quiet drink while deciding whether to spend the rest of the night clubbing or not. It's open from the evening onwards.

Atlantic Bar

A popular bar and restaurant situated along Lumley Beach and has been established for years. This was the first beach bar along lumley beach, it is popular with Lebanese community.

Paddy's International Complex

If you’re looking to get down and party all night, this is the place for you. Paddys is the most popular entertainment spot in Sierra Leone. It is an open-air entertainment complex with a good selection of all types of music including the latest in Sierra Leonean, hip hop, R&B, African and pop music. All sort of music from Daddy Saj to Celine Dion.

On special events, you might even be treated to some live music. There are three bars, a restaurant and couple of pool tables and table football. Drinks are well priced – if you open a tab, keep your eye on the bill as it gets really busy and confusing for the bartenders sometimes.

Sports Bar

The Sports Bar and Alex's restaurant are in the same complex. The bar is popular with expats and is a good spot for watching premiership and other football as well as Rubgy. It's a good spot to hang out.

Lagoonda

This is probably Freetown’s slickest entertainment complex. It contains a casino, restaurant and nightclub. Lagoonda is a good night out though the drinks are more on the pricey side.

Aries Night Club (Bo)

Aries Night Club – Aries, is a bit like Paddys in Freetown but much smaller. It comes alive at weekends and is a good night out in the town.
