Three tips for New Years Eve in Sierra Leone PDF Print E-mail

KabalaAs we get ready to usher in 2012, we would like to offer three options if you're looking to say goodbye to 2011 with a bang! It's going to be hectic, so if you're one of those who gets into church at 11.58pm and out at 12.02am, you might want to check these out next!

1. Freetown: Country Lodge is hosting a big party with entertainment from international DJs. Set up at hill station with beautiful views over the Atlantic, this is probably one of the nicest hotels in Sierra Leone and has a lovely pool to add. If your looking for a big party with lots of good food, drink and dancing then this look's this is the perfect night for you. Alternatively, you cannot go wrong with @The Office and other beach bars like Quincy's (or Independence Bar) and the 'O' Bar

2. Up-Country: Kabala is the most famous place to spend NYE in Sierra Leone, located in the north of the country. For many it has a long and deep tradition and the place comes alive for this one night. Its mountain is climbed on New Years day, and it is suppose to deliver special powers to those who reach the top. The walk up its steep banks is certainly a challenge, but that makes reaching the summit all the more satisfying and the breathtaking views make it all worthwhile. It is definitely a place to go to experience something different and a perfect opportunity to reflect on the year ahead.

3. To the Beach: Tokeh Sands will be hosting a party at its resort this year. It is a beautiful stretch of beach that is very peaceful, so there will be plenty of opportunity to sleep off your hangover the next day. Accommodation is getting booked up so it might mean you have to camp but the white sands will make up for this. You can also try one of their famous cocktails to see the New Year in.

Happy New Year People!!
