Polo Resources’ Nimini kicks of drill programme at Sierra Leone gold projects PDF Print E-mail

Polo Resources (LON:POL, TSE:POL) told investors that its 51 per cent owned associate Nimini Holdings has kicked off a 5,000 metre exploration drill programme at the Komahun high grade gold project in Sierra Leone.

The 5,000 metre drill programme includes both in-fill and extension drilling, and it is focusing on the Komahun main zone. Nimini is also planning to drill the Sendekor prospect, a potential iron target with a four kilometre strike area.

Meanwhile it will also carry out drilling work on the Matotoka project, which is found on the northern border of Cluff Gold’s (LON:CLF) 1.5 million ounce Baomahun gold project.

Co-chairman Neil Herbert said: "It is our expectation that we will see a significant increase in resources at the Komahun high-grade gold project during this phase of drilling while the additional exploration drilling at the Western Extension and Sendekor prospects also has the potential to significantly enlarge the current project area.

“We look forward to results from this drill programme in early 2012."
