Cullompton nurse returns from Sierra Leone volunteer work |

A NURSE has been helping some of the poorest people in the world after a four-week stint in Sierra Leone.
Lesley Davey, from Cullompton, was onboard Africa Mercy - the largest charity hospital ship in the world – to help give free medical care and humanitarian aid to people in some of the most deserted parts of Sierra Leone.
The 60-year-old, who is a registered nurse at Tiverton Hospital, volunteered to work as an operating room nurse on the ship.
This was the sixth time Lesley has been working on the ship and she said she plans to go back for two years in 2013.
