Looking to enjoy an evening meal in Freetown this Christmas? I have handpicked 5 restaurants that will cater to everyone’s taste.
• For the Family:
Mamba point- A great night to enjoy a delicious pizza, the large ones are so huge they could be shared among a small family. Recently I had the colour salad (Avocado and Mozarella) it was delicious. If you’re looking for an evening to enjoy a good meal in a air conditioned restaurant look no further.
• Out with friends:
Alex’s restaurant- Situated in Aberdeen’s small port, Alex’s is at the heart of Freetown’s party scene, making it a great place to start a night out. It is one of the older restaurants in town and needs a bit of work but the fish and local dishes are good. It is romantic place in the evening too with candles on tables set out onto a veranda.
• Out on a date: Indochine - Situated on the water front close to Aberdeen bridge, Indochine is a rather fancy Chinese restaurant. It is slightly more expensive than the other options but it is perfect if you are looking for a more special evening out. The service is outstanding.
• Food before a night out: Quincies- If you’re looking for some tasty grub on the beach front then Quincies is perfect. Its bright beach chairs make it easy to find. There is always a very laid back atmosphere and it serves up a good BBQ with salad at a reasonable price. On Friday and Saturday nights it serves as a good launch pad for a night out so expect it to be busy.
• Quiet night in: Pizza Pond – This pizza joint has just moved to Siakka Stephens street from Murray town but they still deliver and the pizza is the same. Quite simply the best pizza in town and at a very reasonable price. If you don’t fancy delivery it is a nice place to hang out, especially if there is a game on. The three cheeses comes highly recommended.
