Manny Williams hopes for Stars call-up PDF Print E-mail

Sierra Leonean born British raised soccer star Manny Williams has disclosed to Sierra Express Media that he will be happy to play for his country of birth if he receives a call up from the country’s Football Association for future competitions.  According to the 25 year old striker, “It will be great representing my father who was once a football player for Sierra Leone, and I hope to start from were he left,” he told SEM via Facebook

Sierra Leone gets fibre optic link to Internet PDF Print E-mail

FREETOWN, Oct 10 (Reuters) - Sierra Leone secured its first fibre optic connection to the outside world on Monday with the arrival of the Africa Coast to Europe (ACE) submarine cable in the capital Freetown.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Even though the circumstances are a little bizarre and the timing decidedly short, Kei Kamara will be a part of the Sierra Leone squad for one of the biggest matches in the nation’s history.

Kamara departed Kansas City on Wednesday afternoon immediately following training to meet up with his international teammates in Nelspruit, South Africa, in time for a crucial African Cup of Nations qualifier against Bafana Bafana on Saturday. 

The towering SKC winger called for focus ahead of the must win game.

Researchers of the Southern Christian College Community Education Research and Extension Administration based in the Philippines are currently on a working visit in Sierra Leone to enable them gain experiences country’s post war era; taking into thought that their country – the Philippines – is in a similar situation.

Elma Negra who doubles as Vice President the forenamed said experiences gained out of the Sierra Leoneans war will surely help solve the situation in the Philippine.

South Africa will hope to make their fourth clash with Sierra Leone the most memorable, having never beaten nor scored against the tricky West Africans.

In their past three attempts, Bafana Bafana have found the Leone Stars to be a tough nut to crack especially away from home. But in Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane's favour is that his team will be playing at home and in front of familiar supporters come Saturday.
