I admit my bias here: I love Salvonne and am including it even though it's not really a restaurant; it's a tiny bakery shop with two plastic tables outside, so it only just qualifies but I'll eat anything Yvonne cooks. Yvonne the eponymous owner is a fine baker and makes good breads, cakes and pies.

In the mornings I regularly grab a croissant and a couple of banana-breads, Fridays at about 11am they do the best brown loaf in town which sells out almost immediately (Bliss do a good granary too). Occupationally I treat myself to her magnificent Steak and Kidney pies; they are fabulously filled and are sold with a spoon because they're impossible to eat otherwise. You know they're good when the British high-commission send drivers down to collect them! Other friends have admitted to being addicted to their ham and cheese croissants.. the list goes on.

So the grab-a-quick-bite destination of choice in town is Salvonne, you can sit and eat there, it's tiny; but oh so worthwhile.

5* because the Steak and Kidney pies remind me of home!
