Paladio Restaurant

Paladio is my new favourite centre of town restaurant, very similar in many respects to D's bazaar at the other end of Siaka Stevens street, Paladio is hard to find, but worth the effort!
despite the Lightfoot Bostone St address, the entrance is through a poorly signed arch way opposite the College Chapel in Rawdon street, which takes you into a shabby courtyard from which some stairs take you to the restaurant on the first floor. Once you step over the threshold though everything changes, the restaurant is smart, clean and air-conditioned and is spread over two levels, with some quieter booth areas. Service is usually pretty quick, but the best bit is the 10,000le daily plassas.. their groundnut soup has a great smoked fish broth as a base and is possibly the best I've had, their potato leaves are good, the half pepper chicken (20,000) is good and spicy and the medium gilled snapper (30,000) was tasty too and I'm not sure we'd like to have seen the large! Then on Friday there is the buffet, very much like D's it's an eat as much as you can affair with lots of options and nibbles; we managed two rounds but the group of lads who were so enthusiastic they almost ran in were obviously hardened regulars and ate fantastic amounts..
Better still today their extra wide flat screen TV was broken so we could hold a conversation without SLBS in the background, perfect. So if you're at the PZ end eat at Paladio and at the Choitram end try D's - they both get a 4* for quality & value, but the food's better at Paladio.

4* : good food, good prices, good environment
