Simple but classily designed lodges at the Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Really nice and quiet break, bed and breakfast & self catering.

The Sanctuary currently has four lodges. Bruno - traditional roundhouse - 1 double bed; Julie - traditional roundhouse - 2 single beds (twin); Augusta - tree canopy lodge - 1 double bed; Christo - tree canopy lodge - 2 double beds in two separate rooms (the second bed can be folded into a couch if not needed).

Excellent Trip

I went with a group last month and we all had an excellent time at Tacaguma. It was beautiful and the service was outstanding. The work they are doing is truly commendable. Highly recommend a visit.

A night at the reserve

I put down 4 as value here - as the real value of this is the contribution back to the sanctuary ad the higher cost of the stay is as much part of mutual benefit as it is a very clean, beautiful, and relaxing place. if you go to FT - this is a must visit.

Tacugama Chimpanzee Sanctuary Ecolodges

A truly relaxing overnight stay. Multitudes of beautiful butterflies, wonderful clean accommodation and very friendly helpful staff. Fabulous food appeared from we're not sure where, but the chimps were, of course, the highlight! Would highly recommend to anyone.

Chimp Paradise!

We recently spent a weekend up at Tacugama and it was one of the most wonderful places I have stayed (and I have been all over the place!). The lodges are gorgeous and the setting unbelievable. I was so in love with the chimps that I actually did the tour through the sanctuary twice.

We also walked up to Charlotte Falls which was a great afternoon outing - although be aware, you are expected to pay a small amount to the village which we weren't aware of when we left (it is minimal but it is good to know to avoid disputes when you get there and wonder why someone is angrily asking you for money!)

I could easily have spent a few more days up there - waking to the sound of the chimps screaming was rather surreal and otherwise the peace was sublime.

A really wonderful sanctuary!
